By placing your order with us you will be deemed to have read and agreed to our terms and conditions (T&Cs). Please contact us if you need any aspect clarified. Please read our T&Cs each time you place an order as they may be updated from time to time and we reserve the right to make alterations and update them as required.

We take your privacy very seriously and under no circumstances will we let anyone other than employees of Amelie and their agents have access to your personal details unless required to do so by law or we suspect or detect fraudulent activity. We only store your name and contact details to administer our website and your orders and do not store any financial information such as credit or debit card details. We are registered under the Data Protection Act 1998. Registration number: Z2674865


Care is taken to ensure that information on our website is accurate and current, and we do not accept any liability for any errors or omissions.

Amelie retains ownership over all items until paid for in full. Risk to all items passes on delivery save where items are retained for collection by the customer in which case risk passes on payment being made in full.

All images and content on this website are subject to intellectual property rights including copyright and is the property of or licensed to Amelie. Copying and use of any content on this site is strictly forbidden.

If any items are listed incorrectly, due to a technical error or otherwise, we reserve the right to cancel the order and issue a full refund.

We reserve the right to refuse any transaction, for any reason, at our discretion.

We reserve the right to remove any items from the website at any time without liability.

These Terms and Conditions are in accordance with English law only and laws from any other country will not be considered valid. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English Courts.

When you place an order with us you will receive a unique order number. Please keep this number safe and quote it in any correspondence with us.

You may cancel any stock items up to the point of dispatch and a full refund will be issued within 30 days. Any special orders will incur a 20% restocking charge if cancelled. Any bespoke items or commissions will be charged in full if cancelled once production has commenced.

Our shabby chic items have a "distressed" finish, intended to give the appearance of age and wear. No two items are the same as each piece is hand finished. Any imperfections, cracks, scuffs and scratches are all part of the intended character of the items.

Due to variation in computer monitors, images shown may appear slightly different in colour to the actual item.

All measurements are stated as accurately as possible but slight variations may occur in manufacture so therefore must be considered as approximate only. If you have any special considerations please do not hesitate to contact us and we will try to give you exact measurements where possible.

Payments are processed using the secure WorldPay and may be made using Credit or Debit cards.

You will be charged in full for your items and postage & packing at checkout.
When placing your order please ensure that:

  • You have read the full Terms and Conditions and Delivery details
  • You are over 18 years of age
  • You have given your correct name, address and personal details
  • You make a payment using a valid credit or debit card issued to you and not one fraudulently obtained or belonging to any other person
  • You will be available to receive your delivery on the day agreed to
  • P.O boxes, hotels and temporary addresses are not accepted


You have seven days to notify us in writing if you wish to return an item, stating the reason for return. The item must be received by us within 14 days of delivery in its original packaging, unused and undamaged if you wish for a full refund. You may return the item, providing it is in good order and condition, within 28 days in exchange for a credit note or alternative item. We recommend that you send your returned items by registered delivery to show proof of postage as we are not responsible for items once they have been received by you. If items should not be received by us or arrive damaged, Amelie will not be held responsible and a refund or credit note will not be issued. Please ensure that you notify us prior to returning an item, quoting the original order number, date of order, full details of the item being returned and the reason for return.

Amelie makes a point of checking items before dispatch and we take great care in packaging your order so that it arrives to you safely. In the unlikely event of an item arriving damaged or faulty please contact us within 48 hours and attach photos of the damage. In the event that Amelie accepts responsibility, we will assume the cost of return postage and will issue a full refund on receipt.

Any items which are personalised, custom made or commissioned are non-returnable, unless faulty.

Your refund will be processed by the same method as the original payment.


Force majeure: Amelie is not liable for anything which prevents Amelie, its agents or sub-contractors from performing their obligations. This could arise from or be attributable to acts, events, omissions or accidents beyond the control of the party so prevented including without limitation Acts of God (including fire, flood, earthquake, storm, hurricane or other natural disaster), war, invasion, acts of foreign enemies, hostilities (regardless of whether war is declared), civil war, riot, civil commotion, rebellion, revolution, insurrection, military or usurped power or confiscation, terrorist activities, nationalisation, government sanction, blockage, embargo, labour dispute, strike, lock-outs or other industrial dispute, unavailability of third party services, interruption or failure of electricity or telephone service, breakdown of plant or machinery, accident, compliance with any law or governmental order, rule, regulation or direction and any other event outside of our control.

Amelie cannot be held responsible for any products altered in any way by the customer.

Amelie shall not be liable by reason of any representation, or any implied warranty, condition or other term, or any duty of common law or under any express terms, for any loss of profit or any indirect special or consequential loss, damage, costs, expenses or other claims (whether caused by the negligence of Amelie, its agents or sub-contractors or otherwise) which arise out of or in connection with performance of Amelie's obligations or through knock on effects of late delivery, non-delivery or damages and the entire liability of Amelie shall not exceed the amount of the value of the order placed.


Only the person placing the order shall have any rights under or in connection with it.


We have the right to assign or transfer any or all of the Terms and Conditions so long as your rights are not compromised in any way and your rights and guarantees are fully maintained.

The above Terms and Conditions are governed by English law applicable from time to time. Your statutory rights are not affected. If any provision of these Terms and Conditions is held by any Court or other competent authority to be invalid or unenforceable in whole or in part, the validity of the other provision of these Terms and Conditions and the remainder of the provision in question shall not be affected.
